Basic recipe... but also the best one!

ingredients

  • 3 pounds Cube Steak
  • 3-1/2 cup whole milk, divided
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose Flour
  • garlic salt
  • black pepper
  • canola oil, for frying
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley
  • salt and pepper

directions

  1. Setup a breading station to fry the steaks. Beat the 2 eggs in a bowl for dipping, whisk in 1 ½ cups of the milk. In a flat dish mix the flour, pepper, garlic salt.
  2. Garlic salt and pepper each side of the steak. Dip the seasoned steak in the egg mixture let excess drip off. Move the steak to the flour. In the flour push the steak out a little with your fingers. This will make it a little larger and more tender. Next dip the floured steak into the egg mixture again, and then back to the flour. Set it aside in a tray of dish as you dip the rest of the steaks.
  3. In a fry pan heat your oil to 350 degrees.
  4. When ready fry each steak about 2 ½ – 3 minutes a side until done.
  5. Make a white gravy for the steaks. Over medium high heat, add a ¼ cup of oil to a fry pan. When hot whisk in 4 tablespoons of flour making a roux. Add some salt and pepper. Cook the roux for a couple of minutes and add in 2 cups of the milk. Return to a boil, making a sauce. Pepper to taste. Pour over the steaks and serve
