Sweet Garlic Chicken

Ingredients Related Tips

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
4 garlic cloves, minced
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon olive oil
additional herbs and spices, as desired




1 - Preheat oven to 450°F Line a baking dish or cookie sheet with aluminum foil and lightly coat with cooking spray or lightly brush with oil.

2 - In small sauté pan, sauté garlic with the oil until tender.

3 - Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. Add additional herbs and spices as desired.

4 - Place chicken breasts in a prepared baking dish and cover with the garlic and brown sugar mixture.

5 - Add salt and pepper to taste.

6 - Bake uncovered for 15-30 minutes, or until juices run clear. Cooking time will depend on the size and thickness of your chicken.

The flavors of the ingredients combine well so that it is neither too garlicky nor too sweet! Added some buttered noodles as our side. It was an easy and filling meal for two adults and two kids.

I just saw this same recipe on Facebook with 3 Tbsp. EVOO plus cheese, any kind you like, sprinkled top and drizzled a little bit of the reserved sauce during last 15 minutes baking. think I'll make extra sauce, too.

If using the breast, I would brine chicken first maybe for an hour or two.

made tonight! doubled the recipe and added pepper flakes. It was delicious. I think overcooked garlic, still delicious! don't like cooking chicken for 15 mins, lowered temp to 350/45 mins. butterflied breasts. will make this again!!!

This was amazing. I did lower the cook temp though to 350 so that it moist. doubled sauce and made one half more thick like a coating they other thinner sauce. It ended up being divine.

Made this last night. It was really good. I added some red pepper flakes. Decided not to add anything else because didn't want detract from the brown sugar and garlic. I'm glad didn't. definitely will fix again!

I doubled the recipe and still did not end up with any kind of "sauce" to pour over chicken. In waste 14 drumstick baked for Super Bowl Sunday! Came out delish!

Hubby loves it! This one is a keeper in my recipe book! I added oregano, sage, pepper, rosemary, and pinch of salt. Very yummy!

this is great on the grill but add red pepper flakes,it offsets sweetness.also double sauce mixture so you have plenty to baste chicken with.

Made this for dinner tonight. Loved, loved, loved it! My husband was ooohing and aahhhing as soon he put the first forkful in his mouth. Going to make part of my monthly menu. YUMMMM:)))

I think the red pepper flakes and some ginger would give it a great kick. Maybe even dash of soy sauce. Serve with nice aromatic rice broccoli or sugar snap peas.... Heym just decided what to make for supper !!

Spices I would try be Lemon Pepper, fresh Oregano & or Sage, Hot pepper flakes cilatro! To name afew!

i wish I had read the comments before we put it in oven. Next time think will add rosemary and basil or red pepper. It DOES smell delicious though. 10 more minutes! We made cheesy shells asparagus with

Turned out a little dry. Next time I will baked it on 450 for about 10-15 min, then cover w/ foil & turn down temp to 375 the remainder of baking time. mixed in dried basil rosemary garlic oil minced garlic. Nice flavor.
