ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour (350g)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter at room temp
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecans (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (180 C)
  2. In a bowl - sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together
  3. In a different bowl - beat together butter, brown sugar, sugar, and vanilla extract
  4. Add the eggs to the "butter bowl" and continue beating together until smooth
  5. Add the flour mixture to the "butter bowl" little by little, and continue beating together
  6. Mix until its "dough", then add the chocolate chips.  mix them in with a spatula (not the mixer)
  7. Form the dough into balls and place on the baking sheet.  (dust the sheet with a little flour)
  8. Bake for 20 minutes, remove when golden brown.  
  9. Enjoy!!
