They're Back!

ingredients

  • Twinkies (or whatever "Cream filled cake" you like)
  • Whipped Cream
  • Chopped Strawberries
  • Strawberry Glaze or Jam (homemade recipe below) 

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh Strawberries, cleaned and mashed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup water
  • Few drops Red Food Coloring, optional

directions

  1. Line whatever size dish you like with the Twinkies
  2. Spread the Glaze over the top of the Twinkies
  3. Top with Chopped Strawberries
  4. Top that with Whipped Cream
  5. Cut and Serve!

Glaze Instructions

  1. Mash the Strawberries and set aside
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch
  3. Stir in water and mashed berries
  4. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly
  5. Stir in food coloring if desired
  6. Cook and stir 3 minutes until thick
  7. Remove from heat and transfer to bowl, cool 10-15 minutes
  8. If strawberries are not smooth, you can either put them through a sieve and smash them or use the food processor.
