3 ingredients...THREE!

ingredients

Two 12-oz bags frozen mixed berries/peaches
1 box white cake mix
Approximately 1 can of diet 7-up or other clear soda
(might need more than 1 can of soda to avoid dry spots)

directions

Place frozen fruit in a 9x13 baking dish. Add dry cake mix over the top. Pour soda slowly over cake mix. DO NOT stir the cake mix and the soda - this will give you a 'crust'.

Bake 350 for 45-50 min or longer until berries are cooked.

Serve with Ice Cream

I added 4 oz more of the soda, but there were still dry powder spots. Otherwise, it came out great. used mixed berries and topped warm dessert with ice cream. Highly recommend.

Why DIET soda? This sounds a lot like dump cake where butter is dotted all over the mix. Maybe that would help keep it from being dry in spots?

Why not DIET soda, it's poison and helps keep calories down. My biggest concern is that the fruit won't be sweet enough, juice thicken. Feedback on thickening issue from those who've made it, please?
