Ingredients Related Tips

  • 1 can (10.75 ounce size) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 packet beefy onion soup mix (e.g., Lipton)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 pounds beef stew meat
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms,
  • sliced 8 ounces baby carrots


  • Mix sauce ingredients in cooker.
  • Add meat, carrots, and mushrooms, and stir.
  • Cook on high 4 hours and low 4 hours, or just low for about 8 to 10 hours.

I personally like to mix it up a little - add peas, fresh chopped onion, or whatever veggies you like - make it a little saucier by doubling the wine and soup) great served by itself with fresh bread or over egg noodles
