A great alternative to a former Hamburger Helper favorite! (Cheesy italian shells)
ingredients
- 1 lb of ground beef (more or less if you like),
- 2 cups of milk,
- 3/4 cup of water,
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (more or less if you like),
- 8 oz of tomato sauce or paste,
- 1 1/4 cups of pasta of your choice,
- 1 tablespoon of corn starch,
- 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning,
- 1 teaspoon of salt,
- 1 teaspoon of sugar,
- 1 teaspoon of seasoning salt,
- dash of Parmesan (optional).
directions
- mix together 1 tablespoon of corn starch, 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of seasoning salt, and 1 teaspoon of garlic in a small bowl.
- Brown ground beef and drain excess grease
- Add 2 cups of cold milk.
- Add in the seasoning mix and stir until evenly mixed in.
- Add 3/4 of water and 1 1/4 cups of pasta.
- Add in 8 oz of tomato paste or sauce.
- Cook on medium for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Add in cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese and stir until well mixed.
- Continue cooking another 5-10 minutes until sauce is thick and pasta is cooked to preference.
