Hashbrown Burger

The other toppings are optional

ingredients

  • 2 lb Ground Beef
  • Your favorite Seasonings (Here's one of my Favorite Burgers)
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Oil (for frying the HashBrowns)
  • Bacon (optional)
  • Cheese (Pepperjack is my favorite)

HashBrowns

  • 2 Potatoes- Shredded (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/4 Cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped Onion
  • 1 Egg
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Avocado Salsa

  • 1-2 ripe avocados, pitted and roughly chopped
  • 1/2-1 chopped Tomato
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (or more or less to taste)
  • 1/4 cup chopped purple/red onion
  • juice of half a lime
  • 2-3 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1-2 garlic cloves, finely crushed
  • big pinch salt

directions

Make your Salsa

  1. Toss all the "Salsa" ingredients in a bowl and let it sit for a bit

Make your Hash Browns

  1. Mix the HashBrown ingredients together in a bowl
  2. Cook your Bacon (optional)
  3. Heat about 1/4 inch of oil in a skillet over med-high heat (or use the Bacon grease)
  4. Form Hashbrowns into "patties" and fry until nicely browned (should take about 5 minutes per side)
  5. Remove and drain on paper towels and season with Salt and Pepper

Make your Burger

  1. Mix Ground Beef together with an Egg, Bread Crumbs, Bacon Bits, whatever else suits you
  2. Form into Patties and cook on the Grill (or even fry in the skillet where you made the Hashbrowns)
  3. Flip the Patty, melt the cheese on top.
  4. Then assemble your burger on the Bun - Lettuce, Tomato, etc... (I like Toasted Ciabatta, but you could use anything) 
  5. Top with Hashbrown Patty and Salsa
  6. Enjoy!!
