Mushroom Onion Pork Chops

Recipe after recipe yielded dry pork chops - until now! Slow cooking yields fork tender chops every time.

ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • 2 medium yellow onions,
  • sliced 8 oz mushrooms,
  • sliced 10.5 oz can golden mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup beef or vegetable broth (or water)
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix

directions

  • Spray inside of 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
  • Place first three ingredients inside in order: pork chops, onions and mushrooms
  • Combine golden mushroom soup, broth, and dry soup mix.
  • Pour over ingredients in crock.
  • Cover and cook on high for 3.5 hours or on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Pork is fully cooked when instant read thermometer reads 170 degrees. (Note to judge: "Cooking Time (Minutes): above does not allow for 210 minutes)
  • Garnish with your choice of herbs, red peppers, or whatever you have on hand.
  • Serve remaining mushroom-onion gravy over mashed potatoes or rice.
