ingredients
- large bag of frozen broccoli (I dice them so not so chunky )
- 1 shredded carrots
- 3-4 large potatoes (diced)
- small onion
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup smoked Gouda
- tbsp garlic powder
- bay leaf
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp flour
- 1 cup half and half
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
directions
- Melt butter and combine with flour on the stove top.
- Add diced onions until tender, lower heat and slowly add half and half, then garlic powder.
- Stir till smooth and thickens.
- Add roux to crock-pot, add broth, broccoli, potatoes, carrots and bay leaf.
- Cook on high for 2 1/2-3 hours.
- Turn down to warm and add heavy cream and all cheeses,
- Stir well and add salt and pepper to taste
