homemade slow cooker apple butter

ingredients

  • 15-20 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • cinnamon to taste

directions

  • Put apple slices through a food processor until chunky
  • Combine sugars and apples and cook for 4 hours on high in a covered crock pot.
  • Put the cooked apples back through the food processor until smooth.
  • Place back into an uncovered crock pot for 2-4 hours, until it has an almost oatmeal type consistency.
  • Cool completed before storing, it took me about 3 hours to cool.
