You can use any meat you like... or no meat at all
ingredients
- Choose your meat (whatever you like Chicken, Lamb, Beef, etc...)
- 1 tablespoon Mediterranean seasoning (Italian Seasoning works too)
- 4 pitas (or even tortillas in a pinch)
- optional: lettuce, feta cheese crumbles
- Sliced Peppers and Onions
- 1/2 English cucumber, peeled and diced
- 2 cups cold plain Greek yogurt
- 4 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1/3 cup chopped dill, fresh or frozen (may sub 2 tablespoons dried dill)
- 1 1/2 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice (juice of ½ medium lemon)
- 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
Homemade Med Seasoning
- 3 tablespoons dried rosemary
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons ground coriander
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
directions
- Puree all the "Sauce" ingredients in a blender and chill.
- Season your meat with the Mediterranean Seasoning and cook in the skillet until fully cooked through
- Lay your Pitas flat, add lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppers, etc... whatever you like
- optional - I like to toast my Pita in the skillet with a little oil to "crisp them up" a bit!
- Top with Tzatziki and Enjoy
