ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cans peaches (15oz each)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- ground cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)
- 2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- pinch of salt
directions
- Preheat oven to 375F
- Melt unsalted butter in a 9x13 baking dish
- Combine Flour, 1 cup Sugar, Baking Powder, Salt, and Milk in a medium bowl, stir together until the ingredients are moistened. Pour batter over melted butter (do not stir)
- In a med saucepan, bring the remaining 1 cup sugar, peaches (with juice or syrup) and lemon juice to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly
- Spoon Peaches over Batter (do not stir) the Pour "sauce" over the batter.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg if desired
- Bake at 375 for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or cold
