Sausage and Peppers. Excellent Sandwich, can also be eaten as an appetizer or side dish... or dessert! It's just that good :)
ingredients
- 2 lbs Italian Sausage Links (I prefer the spicy, but mild can be used as well)
- 3 - 4 bell peppers - color preference is up to you
- 2 med onions
- Seasonings (I used garlic salt, Italian seasoning and black pepper)
- 8 dinner rolls - (try to avoid too thick of bread, the filling should be the star - not the bread - I used Ciabatta rolls)
- 8 slices Provolone cheese
directions
- Preheat Oven to 375 degrees
- Brown your Sausage Links over medium heat a few minutes on each side (Does not need to cook all the way through - just to get color)
- While sausage is browning, slice onions and peppers into strips
- Place first onions, then peppers in a baking dish
- Season liberally with black pepper, Italian seasoning and garlic salt
- Place browned sausages over the mixture, cover with foil and place in oven
- Bake at 375 for approximately 45 - 50 minutes
- Add slice of provolone Cheese to sliced dinner rolls and spoon mixture and sausage link over top
- Enjoy!
