the flavor ideas are nice. the only thing is that your version isn't non-dairy for those who have lactose-intolerance. the nestle version is non-dairy. it would be great if you can come up with a non-dairy alternative that tastes good, too.

find a lactose sweet condensed milk. they should have one and use silk or any lactose free milk.
7/4/2014
you have to cook it?
7/4/2014 (1)
lactose free sweetened condensed milk recipe: (i will do it in a couple posts) 1 can of unsweetened coconut milk 1/3 cup- 1/2 cup granulated sugar, honey or light agave syrup 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional but adds good flavor)
7/4/2014 (2)
place the coconut milk, sweetener of choice, and brown sugar (if using) into a saucepan and whisk gently over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. this will help the solid bits of coconut milk melt and incorporate with the sugar.
7/4/2014 (3)
when the mixture is just beginning to bubble around the edges, reduce the heat to low. set a timer for one hour and simmer uncovered, whisking every 5-10 minutes to release steam and aid in evaporation.
7/4/2014 (4)
the mixture will reduce by about half and should be quite thick. you will also notice that it is a darker color. remove from heat, stir thoroughly and pour into a glass jar or container. cool in the refrigerator.
7/4/2014 (5)
it will continue to thicken as it cools. use it 1:1 in recipes that call for traditional condensed milk. or to make this creamer :) enjoy!
7/4/2014 (6)
where does it say to cook this at? the recipe says "mix it all together - enjoy! " - so obviously something is missing here.
7/4/2014 (7)
still confused...do you mix the two milks on low heat til thickened and then add flavoring. you don't tell us how to "cook" this!!!
7/4/2014 (8)
this makes no sense.. is this mixture cooked or not????
7/4/2014 (9)
why do you think it needs to be cooked? it is a creamer - mix all together, put in refrigerator, and enjoy in your coffee !! it is pretty simple and actually ingenious! :)
7/4/2014 (10)
you don't have to cook this at all. rather than say 'cooking time', it would be more appropriate to say 'preparation time'
7/5/2014
sadly this is - at minimum - misleading. there is way more that 3 ingredients in the "homemade creamer". as an example, the torani syrups all have sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate as preservatives.
7/5/2014 (1)
i make hazelnut creamer with milk and sweetened condensed milk but i use about a 1/2 tsp of hazelnut extract for the flavor (adjust to own taste). i like it a lot!
7/5/2014 (2)
how about italian sweet cream??
7/6/2014
what a bunch of pinheads y'all are! nothing nice to say? this is a great idea and even if not perfect (for those who achieve perfection) it's a great substitute. it is simple and can be varied according to taste. nice job, my fridge! thank you.
7/7/2014
sounds like a great idea...i'm gonna try it!!!
7/8/2014
whats the difference in cost?
7/8/2014 (1)
sounds great! how long will this keep in the fridge???
7/8/2014 (2)
how many grams of sugar

how do you make french vanilla?
7/10/2014
what flavors would you use to make creme brulee?
7/11/2014
how about making a creamer like the "coffemate coconut crème"? what flavors would be required?
7/11/2014 (1)
can i use 2$ milk or is there any difference?
7/16/2014
thank you!! this is great. i look for healthier clones for coffee flavors and creamers. now i can make the liquid creamer any tim as i have the ingredients always on hand and it's quick to toss together. thank you, again!!
7/19/2014
this is not so true folks, and frankly this is marketing bs. torani (or any syrup) has chemicals too.
7/23/2014
funny...people take things so literally. if you are using 1 'flavoring' it is 3 ingredients. for you 'lactose intolerants, so am i. you do know you can use lactose-free milk the same as 'regular' milk right? or almond, rice, or coconut milk.
