Fried Cubed Steak

ingredients

Cube Steak (I make 6 usually),

Flour,

Salt,

Pepper (I used the pepper that you grind),

garlic salt,

onions,

brown gravy packets (yes I cheated on the gravy)and

meat tenderizer.

I heat my cast iron with 2 tablespoons of butter and enough olive oil to cover the pan. You can use whatever oil you like. While that gets hot, I mix 2 cups of flour, tablespoon of salt, tablespoon of pepper, 1/2 tablespoon of garlic salt and meat tenderizer. I add a little salt and pepper to the meat as well. I coat the cubed steak in the flour mixture and add to the hot pan. It usually takes 5-6 minutes on each side, well it does for me because I want it completely done, but you can cook them more or less. In another pan I saute onions with a little butter, salt and pepper. Once those are almost soft, or to your liking, I add it to my gravy. The gravy is made by the directions on the package. I'm not good at making gravy just yet, so I cheat a little. You can add the steak to your onion gravy in one pan or you can add the onion gravy on top of your steak once it hits your plate. That is what I usually do.
