It looks like there's only going to be about 1/2 c. of liquid in the crockpot once everything is added. How can this enough for 6-hours slow cooker?

No matter how you cook it, or long...ALWAYS double-check with a meat thermometer. The pork will down and juices flow! Yummmm. If are concerned, add some water. But I wouldn't more than 1/2 cup.

I, too, put frozen chicken in the crock pot all time. Since you start with a cold crock, it won't crack; and if you're gone day, there's far less chance of cooking till it's moosh.

Moisture does not escape in slow cooking. Do need to add any more liquid than called for recipe. Slow cooker also will crack from frozen food. That would only happen if it was really hot. You are starting with a cold crock. Hopefully!

This receppie is the BEST. We changed it up slightly out of convenience and replaced dried onions garlic salt with 1/2 pouch onion soup mix.

How do you get it to brown up like the picture? Mine didn't and cooked long dryed out. Not a big hit
11/23/2014 10:02:41 PM
To brown I seared the meat in a skillet with olive oil on all sides before placing cooker. used pork roast. Mine was done after 6hrs high. strained liquid and thickened to create sauce.

Haven't tried it, the ingredients sounds great! I also brown my meat in skillet when is thawed or fresh, unless making a meatloaf. The will keep it moist. Can't wait to try this, like winner!

Had to change the time because I work (gone for 10 hrs). Usually cook on low less and let it switch warm. cooked 4 1/2 hours -still liquid in slow cooker a little dry. Next 3 hours. Husband loved taste

I cooked this today exactly as recipe directed, amounts and time. It smelled great tasted good but it was dry. I'm thinking either needs to be on high for less time, or more liquid is needed. Any tips just baking in the oven?

Best Christmas dinner in a long time. Seared then cooked on low for 5 hours and was done by meat thermometer. Served the juices along with it turned out great. Even people who weren't fans of pork loved it.

would it change the recipe much if the pork came from the freezer? how much time would i add? would the pork pick up the taste of the sauce as well?
7/14/2014
don't put frozen food in the crock-pot; you might crack the crock.
7/29/2014
i put frozen in my slow cooker all the time. add 2 hrs to recommended time.
