A German almond cookie, perfect for Christmas time!

ingredients

1 cup of butter (room temperature works best)
- 2/3 cup of Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon Almond extract
- 2.5 cups Flour
- 1 cup of ground almonds (or almond flour if available) (can use crushed slivered almonds, but cookies will be very crumbly)
- 1/4 cup of Powdered / Confectioners sugar

directions

Amounts: (makes about 2.5 dozen cookies)
- 1 cup of butter (room temperature works best)
- 2/3 cup of Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon Almond extract
- 2.5 cups Flour
- 1 cup of ground almonds (or almond flour if available) (can use crushed slivered almonds, but cookies will be very crumbly)
- 1/4 cup of Powdered / Confectioners sugar

1. Cream butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and almond extract and mix.
2. Add flour and almonds. Mix thoroughly.
3. Take generous tablespoons of the dough and roll it into a small ball (dough will be slightly crumbly. If it is really sticky, add a little more flour. If it is TOO crumbly, add a little water.) Shape the ball into a crescent shape and place onto greased baking pan / parchment paper.
4. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes or until a light golden brown.
5. Remove and allow to cool. Roll in powdered sugar, or just dust powdered sugar over top.
