ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cans peaches (15oz each)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ground cinnamon or nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt

directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F
  2. Melt unsalted butter in a 9x13 baking dish
  3. Combine Flour, 1 cup Sugar, Baking Powder, Salt, and Milk in a medium bowl, stir together until the ingredients are moistened.  Pour batter over melted butter (do not stir)
  4. In a med saucepan, bring the remaining 1 cup sugar, peaches (with juice or syrup) and lemon juice to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly
  5. Spoon Peaches over Batter (do not stir) the Pour "sauce" over the batter.
  6. Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg if desired
  7. Bake at 375 for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.  Serve warm or cold
