Spicy Sausage Stuffed Bread

ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed, I used frozen french bread
  • 1 pound Sausage, cooked and drained
  • 8 to 10 oz. shredded cheese
  • 1 egg mixed with 1tsp of water, for brushing
  • Melted butter
  • 1 white onion, chopped
  • 1 small bell pepper, chopped
  • Cajun Seasoning

directions

  1. Brown your Sausage in the skillet over med-high heat, set aside
  2. Using the sausage drippings, add the Onions and Peppers to the skillet.  Saute until soft.
  3. Add the sausage back to the pan, add Cajun seasoning, and mix it all well, then drain.
  4. Roll out your bread dough flat with a rolling pin
  5. Spread melted butter, the cooked sausage mix, and cheese
  6. Roll it up and place in a bundt pan or lined cookie sheet. (use cooking spray to keep it from sticking)
  7. Brush the top with the egg wash
  8. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes
  9. Slice and serve
